RACE
DAY SCHEDULE
Sunday
September 21st:
5:00am Registration Opens at Kershaw Park (outdoor tent near
Steamboat Landing)
7:00am Registration Closes
7:00am Pre Race Meeting in Transition Area
7:30am Olympic-First wave start followed by waves in 3 min.
intervals
8:00am Sprint -First wave start followed by waves in 3 min.
intervals
11:00am Kids Race Start (approximately)
10:30am Lunch Service Begins - lunch provided for athletes
by Doc's Seafood Rest.
12:00pm Awards/Lunch/Raffle Drawing
Timing
Chips & Body Marking:
Please
allow yourself plenty of time to pick up your timing chips,
get body markings and set up your transition area before the
7 a.m. meeting in transition. Keep in mind that ALL 1,000
athletes will be picking up their chips and getting body marking
on race morning. You will need to bring your race bib, which
will be in your packet, to the designated chip pick up table.
Transition:
All athletes will be requested to leave the transition area
at 7 am. Until that time, you will be able to enter and exit
through a side entrance, but ONLY if you are a registered
athlete. Please be sure to have everything out of the transition
area before getting food, otherwise you will not be permitted
back into the transition area!
Race
Day Parking:
Please park in te plaza lot on 5 & 20 and walk to Kerahaw
Park (approx. 10 min. walk) NO parking will be available in
the Steamboat Landing lot. NO parking on Lakeshore Dr.
Bathrooms:
Bathrooms
at Steamboat Landing are NOT available for our use. We will
have 40 outdoor restrooms for event participants and spectators.
They will be located at the side of the transition area. Please
honor this request. Steamboat Landing provides logistical
support to us in order for the event to be successful and
we want to respect their request.
KIDS
TRI:
(Approx. Ages 7-15 or at parental discretion.)
No race day registration. Parents can pick
up their child's packet at the registration tent in Kershaw
Park near Steamboat Landing between 9:30am and 10:30am.
The
kids race starts at approximately 11 a.m.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: No alcoholic beverages
are allowed in Kershaw Park. Please do not bring coolers with
alcohol! The Canandaigua Police Dept. and Ontario County Sheriff
will be on hand to enforce this law.
Parents can pick up their child's packet at packet pickups
or on race day.
The Kids race distances are as follows:
50-yard swim
2.5-mile bike ride
.5-mile run
The awards ceremony will be held after the kids have finished.
We encourage you to cheer on the kids (and all other athletes)
when you have finished your own race!
